Strangers in the night - The Music of Bert Kaempfert - The concert highlight 2006! 26 years after the death of the legendary orchestra-leader and composer Bert Kaempfert there will be a great concert-tour again with his orchestra and his evergreen melodies. Sylvia will be on tour in Germany from November 21st until 27th with this fantastic setup including other artists like Joja Wendt, Marc Secara plus the HR Bigband under musical direction of Jiggs Whigham to present the marvellous repertoire of Bert Kaempfert again on numerous big stages throughout the country. Stockholm's Kulturfestival from August 14th - 20th, 2006! Sylvia has been invited to perform at the annual Stockholm Culture-Festival and will be doing an open-air performance on the 'Karl XII Torg' in Stockholm, Sweden on August 15th at 12:00h. She will be accompanied once again by Jan Lundgren {p}, Mattias Svennson (b) and Johan Löfkrantz (dr) and of course she will be singing the songs from her new CD 'Champagne'. 07/19/2006 A 5 out of 5 stars review for the new album 'Champagne' from the Swedish press! * * * * * We had to wait ... and how we had to - we, who love La Sylvia so much. It seemed like a very good friend was coming for a very much appreciated visit when this CD landed on the editor's desk. Sylvia Vrethammar was never before so swingy, never before so bluesy, never before so nicely divanesque and never before did she choose her repertoire so much without compromise. This is without any if and but exactly the thing that Sylvia always was capable of doing best: Jazz. And she does it very relaxed and with a phenomenal timing. This album is simply worldclass and therefore hopefully will soon get an international release, too. A big part in this success plays her pianist Jan Lundgren. He is somthing like the icing on the Mousse au Chocolat, perfect with his fill-ins to Sylvia's vocal lines and outstanding in his own soli. 'Champagne, Champagne' is the header of the much inviting title-track. Thank you for that. Sit down everybody and listen to it! 09/09/2005 SOMMAR! SAMBA! SYLVIA! There is a brandnew CD-Compilation out! Finally, after lots of public demand, Universal Records released a compilation that includes all of Sylvia's latin-flovoured songs. Everything from 1969s "Sylvia's Samba" up to the very well recieved "Bossa Nova" track from her latest studio album is finally available on one single CD.
Furthermore we have added another rare single to the discography. This time it is "Y viva España" as an Australian release on Interfusion Records. You see that this song did not only make it to India but also happened down under. Additionally we have now included the cover picture and track listing of the album "Dansa Samba med mej".
